Baraka Voluntary Association (BVA)

Our Good Deeds for Responsibility of Humanity

Baraka Voluntary Association is an esteemed non-profit organization that has been operating in Yabelo Town since its establishment in 2012 E.C. Founded by a dedicated group of young individuals, this association is committed to addressing the needs and challenges faced by the underprivileged members of the community. Governed by the principles of the federal democratic republic of Ethiopia constitution and guided by Islamic Sharia, Baraka aims to uplift economically, socially, and physically marginalized communities. With a current membership of 200 to 250 permanent participants, the association has gained wide acceptance and support from both the community and government.

EXPECTED OUTCOMES

The proposed project aims to address key vulnerabilities in the community, such as limited access to education, inadequate social services, and water scarcity due to the pastoralism system of income generation and sparse population settlement prevalent in the region. By focusing on orphaned children and their families, the project seeks to provide educational opportunities and essential Islamic education to those who have been disadvantaged. Additionally, the project aims to foster a stronger culture of community support and provide assistance to marginalized groups, consequently improving their living conditions and reducing inflationary pressures. Ultimately, this project will create job opportunities and contribute to enhancing educational access and other essential services in the community.
